South Africa Appeal Success
19/02/2010In an age when so many appeals for humanitarian aid arise at short notice following conflicts or natural disasters, raising a substantial sum towards South Africa, where the need is not in the news, was quite a challenge.

"We were overjoyed to see the total rising as the months went by," said Delyth Evans (above), of Tŷ John Penri. "Around £130,000 had come in by the Annual Meetings at Llysfasi last summer, but this swelled to £205,000. A heartfelt thanks to all who contributed, in any way."
"I'm so glad that the Independent churches and members gave so freely of their time and money," said the Revd Tom Defis, Christian Aid. "This will provide more resources to support the work of Christian Aid's partners, who are working on projects relating to HIV/Aids, land distribution and enabling the poor, and in particular giving hope to the children of South Africa."
