About Us

Business is conducted largely through the Union’s Council, and its six Departments – Mission, Family Life, Finance, Churches and their Ministry, Education and Communication, Christian Citizenship.

The Executive Committee usually meets twice a year, to discuss a wide variety of topics. It is answerable to the Annual Assembly.

The Annual Assembly is a three day event convened during the summer.

The essence of Independence is that power rests with the congregation of full members, being answerable to Jesus Christ and not subject to any external body.

The work of the Union is to prepare and advise, and to inspire, and to serve the churches at their request.
