The Council

Chairperson: Dr Fiona Gannon

In the past, the Council met once annually to discuss the work of the Union, for a 24 hour period, usually in March. From 2008 onwards, it will meet twice, in March and October. The aim is to improve efficiency.

The Council comprises of three representatives from each Association, together with officers from the Union and the six Departments (Mission and World Church; Finance; Family Life; Education and Training; Christian Citizenship; Churches and their Ministry) and others elected by the Assembly. Every member sits on two of the Council’s Departments.
