Welcome to the Learning and Development page of the Union of Welsh Independents.

As we read the Bible, we see time and again people teaching and being taught, and of course Jesus himself was no exception, as he addressed and taught the people through his preaching, and was greeted as “teacher” by some of those who listened to him. Through this teaching, and under the guidance of the Spirit, we see stories in every generation of ordinary people growing in faith.

The primary aim of the Union of Welsh Independents is to support churches in serving Jesus Christ, and in order to help individuals within the churches to carry out this work, it is our privilege through the Learning and Development programme to offer a wide range of training sessions and modules.

It is God, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who calls people to carry out Christian work. Not everyone is called to do the same work; rather, we are called according to our varied gifts. In light of this, we strongly believe in offering a variety of training opportunities, both for individuals and for churches.

Everyone is welcome, whatever your background, and regardless of how much experience you have—or don’t have—to join us. Some will take part for personal reasons, others to qualify as Recognised  Preachers or for the Ordained Ministry, and some will choose to take part for no specific reason other than interest and desire.

The fields, the options, and the provision are ready. Welcome on this journey of learning and development.
