An Evening of Fellowship in Saron, Creunant

On Friday night, 13 February, a special evening was held at Saron Chapel, Creunant – an evening of fellowship, cooperation, and blessings. Although some associate Friday the 13th with bad luck, there was no place for superstition in Saron – only joy and gratitude were experienced by us.

The evening was a testament to the church’s strong community spirit. Everyone came together to prepare the food, with members and friends working side by side to cook a delicious curry that was a feast for 65 people. It was truly a joint effort, with everyone contributing their time and energy to ensure the event’s success.

In addition to the food, an entertaining quiz and an exciting raffle were organised. The first prize was a holiday in Pembrokeshire – a very generous and greatly appreciated gift – and the second prize was a £10 food voucher. These two elements added to the fun and excitement of the evening.

We would like to extend sincere thanks to the three local Tesco stores for their generous donations towards the event. Their support was invaluable and a wonderful example of backing from the local community.

As well as enjoying the curry, quiz, and raffle, there was an opportunity to raise money for Starfish Kids Camp Aberdare. Over £750 was raised – an excellent amount that will make a real difference to the children supported by the camp.

It was truly an evening of fellowship – one that strengthened the bonds between us and reminded us of the value of Christian community. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the evening.
