Our chapel is located in the centre of the village of Pen-y-bont on the banks of the river Dewi.
The cause was established originally in 1856 following the demand for a dedicated place of worship in the area. There was a strong Sunday school in existence in Pen-y-bont preceeding this time, when all church meetings would be held at the William Davies charity school, which serves as our community centre today.
We are now one of five churches forming part of a pastorate including Capel y Graig Tre-lech, Capel Cendy, Bwlchnewydd and Ffynnonbedr. As five churches, we work well together and everyone is welcome to attend services in each of the chapels. The gymanfa bwnc and the gymanfa ganu are important celebrations during the year, as well as our Easter, Harvest, and Christmas services as well as the Pen-y-bont YFC Young Farmers Club meetings.
We are fortunate to have ac active youth element in our church, they hold special services for us under the leadership of our enthusiastic Sunday school teachers, Lily and Linda. Thank you for working tirelessly for the benefit of our young people.
There is a warm welcome for all who wish to join us, for more information contact Elinor Jameson: 07974 370011.
